A Lifechanging Vision
David Sulcer The Passage: Galatians 1:1-5
The Prayer: Father, thank you for your servant Paul. He was commissioned by that stunning vision of Jesus. Arrested by your Son on his way to persecuting the church, he became the apostle to the nations. Truly his vision of Jesus ushered him into a vibrant vocation. Finding himself defending your new creation gospel he asserted his unique role given to him by your very hand. His message was direct from your divinity, not mediated through middle-management correspondence. The message he delivered was the stunning, sovereign, and sacred truth that a new age had broken upon this planet through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. A resurrection that you, dear Father, orchestrated to fulfill the age-long plan for your creation to experience a new age of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. A resurrection that proved the Cross was the payment for all the pain, problems, and poison that plunged our world into oblivion and decay. A resurrection that established a beach-head to rescue a called and chosen people from this present evil age into the bright sunlit age of a new creation. Yes, we live in that new creation, even now, as we await its fullness with worshipful expectation! Yes, we experience its shalom and breath its grace through our Lord Jesus Christ.
